Dekim Barton

Mariemaia's grandfather and Trowa's father, the man who practically controls the Barton Foundation. He was also close to the five doctors who developed the Gundams, and had Quinze, who was burning with revenge for the leader Heero Yuy, execute Operation Meteor. Setting up Mariemaia, who carries Treize's blood, as a symbol, he plots the domination of the EARTH SPHERE by the colonies (in reality, the Barton Foundation). He then organized former White Fang soldiers and some remnants of the Treize faction into the Mariemaia Army, and carried out an operation to conquer EARTH. However, the rebellion ends in failure due to the efforts of the Gundam pilots, Zechs and the Preventers, and the uprising of citizens desiring peace. Consumed by his obsession, Dekim tried to realize his ambitions even if it meant abandoning Mariemaia, but was shot dead as a traitor by his subordinate, a young officer from the former Treize faction.
